The Story David Milgaard Wanted Told: Was His Wrongful Conviction Incompetence or a Cover-up?
Joy is an accomplished journalist with a focus on crime and court reporting. Over the course of her career, she has received numerous awards, including more than a dozen national, provincial, and international accolades. Notably, five of her awards recognize her exceptional work in crime reporting, including prestigious honours such as the SWNA News Story of the Year for her coverage of street gangs, as well as an SWNA award for Best First Nations Coverage.
Her expertise has led her to appear live on media platforms such as CNN TV, and John Gormley live. Joy’s written work has been featured in a wide array of publications, including the Globe and Mail, CBC, CTV, Global TV, Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, Edmonton Sun, Calgary Sun, and Castanet News, among numerous others.
Originally hailing from British Columbia, Joy finds peace in the outdoors and indulges her passion for true crime literature in her spare time. Additionally, she brings a unique perspective to her reporting, having previously been a licensed private investigator in Alberta.
